AteMate is primarily a mindful food journal, but we understand that some people are also interested in tracking calories and macros.
AteMate offers native calorie and macro tools. With AteMate AI Food Analysis on, food photos are recognized and analyzed automatically, and AI Macro Estimates can show calorie and macro estimates derived from that analysis. These are optional learning tools, not daily targets, so you can lean on them as much or as little as you like.
To build general awareness and mindfulness around nutrition, here's a great article from an AteMate coach that shares about reading nutrition labels.
Prefer to track more loosely? Here are a couple of ways to do that.
Notes & Day Recap
You can integrate this into your AteMate experience. For tracking calories or macros, you can use the notes section after adding a meal. This information will then be displayed on the day recap overlay.
Custom Questions and Answers
Alternatively, you can create custom questions with a more flexible approach. For calories, you could create ranges such as 100-200, 200-300, 300-400, etc. For macros, you can use emojis and custom questions for protein, carbs, and fats, categorizing meals as low, mid, or high in each macronutrient. Be creative!
While we emphasize the mindful aspect of eating, we recognize that tracking calories and macros can be helpful for some.
